PICkit 3 Stand alone Programmer 1.0.0.0 Final

La gente de Microchip ha liberado la versión 1.0.0.0 del software programador para el PICkit 3, sin depender de MPLAB.

Pero no hay muchos cambios respecto a la Beta, el PICkit aún no es capaz de auto-detectar un PIC. Talvez el firmware del PICkit3 es el que está limitando está posibilidad.

Known Issues:
-------------
> Device auto-detect is not yet functional, but the device ID is
  verified (if the device has one) before all operations.
  
> Some text in the status message box falls off the edge of the box and
  cannot be read.
  
> The "Blank Check" feature can frequently indicate that a blank device is
  not blank. Typically this is due to a configuration word mismatch in the
  device file. There is no work-around, but manually verifying the
  configuration values as "blank" is possible by reading the device.
  
> The Checksum calculation is not fully tested yet and may not match MPLAB
  in all cases.
 
> A "No target device found" error is sometimes shown after switching or
  updating the AP. Simply retry the operation.

> The application can have problems communicating to the PICkit 3 if the
  AP or RS is corrupt (say, from an interrupted transfer). The easiest
  work-around is to use MPLAB to re-flash the programmer with the latest
  version of the firmware ("Manual Download" in the programmer settings).
  This manifests itself as trouble connecting to the PICkit 3 or, in the
  worst cases, application crashes.
  
> The application cannot recover a PICkit 3 that has only the bootloader
  AP installed. This is not a normal occurance; it can only happen if
  there is a write failure during certain parts of the firmware upgrade
  process. Use MPLAB to recover the firmware to a consistent state.
  
> The application will sometimes not launch with the PICkit 3 connected.
  Disconnecting the PICkit 3 should cause the application to show.

Known quirks:
-------------
> Turning off target power supplied by the PICkit 3 can take a noticable
  amount of time under some circumstances. Two work-arounds exist: Supply
  target power externally, or manually enable target power from the PICkit
  3 before an operation so that it is not automatically disabled
  afterwards.

> The "Blank Check" feature does not update the progress bar.

Tengo la parejita de PKs. Se complementan entre ellos. Mientras uno se encarga de los PICs pequeños y medianos, el otro doma a los grandes de 32 bits. 

Compré el PK3 en diciembre para poder depurar y programar PIC24 y PIC32, para no quedarme obsoleto con los PIC recién liberados.

Hola, hace poco me he hecho con un Pickit 3 clone, del ebay..., y estoy intentando ponerlo a funcionar pero no hay manera ni con Mplab ni con el programita este StandAlone

Utilizo el Pickit 3, y un programador JDM_Fez-877 para insertar el pic, y programarlo por ICSP.

En Mplab se me queda pillado al intentar descargar el bootloader.
Con el programita stand alone, no me deja utilizar la pestaña "Device Family", no se porqué sera....

Si me pudierais dar alguna recomendacion os lo agradeceria muchiiisimo.

He adquirido un pk3 y la programación es rápidisima,eso me ha gustado.

Alguien sabe si ya se solucionaron los problemas del standalone??

Porque a mi me sigue sin funcionar.

Pues yo he grabado en standalone muchos de la familia 18F sin problemas. Lo que sí puedo decirte es que si el cable programador es largo, como de más de 10cm, he tenido problemas con los 18FXXJXX.

Es que el programa al abrirlo tenia problemas y se trababa.
También se llegaba a quedar trabado el pk3 cuando hacia el cambio de firmware para usar diferente micro.

Lo probaré nuevamente.

Yo tendo los dos el PK2 y el PK3 y la verdad que el PK3 graba muy muy rapido pero a la hora de trabajar me entiendo mucho mejor con el PK2. Para mi es que mejor conseguido está, tanto a la hora de integrar en MPLAB como de programar con el stand alone, es una gozada, cosa que el PK3 no consigo congeniar igual con él.
