In contrast to regular licensing options, which require upfront costs and yearly fees to upgrade to the latest compiler versions, our subscription license offers you the flexibility and savings of convenient monthly payments and on-demand license usage.
Over the past couple of years, the MPLAB XC compilers have been updated to offer you more value through the addition of optimization and ease-of-use features. We have added support for AVR® and SAM microcontrollers and microprocessors, along with new features centered on interrupts and memory allocation. Some code optimizations that have been added recently include:

To continue to provide the best compiler products possible for all of Microchip’s devices, we will be making a price adjustment of $10 per month to all subscription devices starting on September 1, 2020. During the month of September, the monthly subscription price will change from $29.95 to $39.95. Our subscription licenses will continue to be a flexible and convenient option that you can cancel or renew at will in one-month increments to meet your budget and design requirements.
